Liturgical Ministries
The Eucharistic celebration, the Holy Mass, is the center of our faith in Christ Jesus. It sums up our entire Christian life as Catholics. This is one single celebration, one sacrifice, in one Church for one God, but it takes several members of the Church to bring that perfect and divine sacrifice to reality. We, as children of God in baptism and followers of Christ, are called to actively participate in this Holy celebration.

Altar Servers
"Service is the sign of true love. Those who love know how to serve others." - Pope Francis
Altar servers have the distinct privilege of assisting the priests and deacons during the Mass and other liturgical celebrations by attending to the supporting tasks at the altar. Altar servers also serve as models for the congregation during celebrations.
Lectors
"Learn the Heart of God from the Word of God." - Pope Saint Gregory the Great
Lectors have the honor of proclaiming the Word of God to his people each week at mass.  They read the first and second readings, as well as the intentions when a deacon is not present.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
"Learn the Heart of God from the Word of God." - Pope Saint Gregory the Great
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist the ordinary ministers (Bishops, Priests and Deacons) in the distribution of the Eucharist. This role is a great honor as it ensures all people can receive the Source and Summit of our faith.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to the Sick & Homebound
"The most terrible poverty is loneliness, and the feeling of being unloved." - St. Teresa of Calcutta
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are needed to bring the Eucharist from the altar at Mass to those who are in hospitals, nursing homes, and are home bound and are unable to come to mass.
Ushers
"Miss no single opportunity of making some small sacrifice, here by a smiling look, there by a kindly word; always doing the smallest right and doing it all for love. " - St. Therese of Lisieux
Ushers, along with the greeters, should be an example to the parish of how to love neighbor as self, as Christ has commanded us. Their service to the parish models the self sacrificial love of Christ.
Greeters
"All that is good, all that is true, all that is beautiful points us toward God."  - Pope Francis
The greeters at Mass serve a special role of welcoming the parishioners each week. We are truly the body of Christ and each member of that body should be welcomed to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass well.
Music Ministry
"To sing is to pray twice." - Saint Agustine
The mission of Good Shepherd’s Music Ministry is to facilitate and encourage the gathered assembly in full, active and conscious participation in the celebration of the Eucharist. Sacred prayer sung by the faithful truly enriches our experience in the call to serve one another.
Decorating Committee
"All that is good, all that is true, all that is beautiful points us toward God."  - Pope Francis
Having a beautiful worship space draws people in and points us toward the beauty of our creator. This ministry helps water the plants and flowers on a regular basis. Help is also needed during special times in the Liturgical years such as Christmas and Easter to prepare the Church. Contact Nicole Mulvany to get involved.
