“I am the Good Shepherd and I know mine and mine know me.” John 10:14
Welcome to Good Shepherd Catholic Parish, where people of all ages and many generations come together to celebrate that we are loved by God and that our lives are shaped by those whom we know and love in return.
We are a parish community of the Archdiocese of Denver, located in the Congress Park neighborhood on the historic 7th Avenue Parkway. For more than 120 years, Catholics of all ages in our community have prayed together, sat at the feet of the apostles and learned of God’s gracious love as revealed through His Son, Jesus Christ, worked together to strengthen the bonds of our human families, and served those less fortunate than ourselves. Our community lived our faith life as sister parishes for many years and carried the names of two great saints: St. John the Evangelist and St. Philomena. In 1981, these sister parishes were combined to become Good Shepherd Catholic Parish.
Today, we are a growing community of young adults, married couples and families, and we are guided in our life together by those who have been a part of this community for now four generations. We are blessed with an outstanding Catholic school and Faith Formation Program. We also have many active ministries that we encourage you to consider joining, including a new Youth Program for middle and high school students, an adult choir and a children’s choir, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, a wonderful Hospitality Committee, the Men of Good Shepherd, and Endow. In addition, we are always grateful for the service of our parishioners as lectors, altar servers, Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, greeters and ushers. Please take a moment to learn about these and many other important opportunities on our “Ministries” page.
Our Parish offers people of all ages a chance to know the Good Shepherd and to be known by Him. I invite you to join us as we grow together in a greater love of God and His people. Please Register with our parish by filling out the Registration Form and either mail it, drop it in an offertory basket or scan and email to email@example.com.
